Community outreach

  • Generate promotional materials
  • Create donor spreadsheet
  • Ask volunteers to pound pavement
  • Mail professional organizationals materials to distribute at gatherings

Growing staff

  • Grow from within (find new staff among our ranks)
  • Demonstrate usefulness / create opportunities for people on staff
  • Provide staff with tshirts, business cards, and certificates of participation
  • Outreach to technical educators to find possible leaders

More paid staff and interns

  • Write and maintain a budget
  • Increase sales and revenue from recycling
  • Grow laptop program (possibly by closing classroom)
  • Create concrete set of roles and responsibilities for next paid staff
  • Next paid staff position not for geeks only, open to discussion
  • Research programs like Americorps VISTA

Moving to a new space

  • Talk with realtors, real estate agent (starting with one of our volunteers!)
  • Requirements plannings
  • Use geodata/gis to select potential locations
  • Start capital campaign

  • Keep organizing our space, and organize in a portable way
